Dawson Pinchon was born on 7th March 1810 and was christened at Thorne on 17th March 1810.  He was the son of Joseph Pinchon and Mary Dawson (hence his first name of 'Dawson'!).

Dawson married Sarah Raywood in Hull on 1st January 1840.  Their son, also named Dawson, was christened at Hook on 3rd November 1845.  On the baptism record the occupation of Dawson Senior was given as Master Mariner.

It is possible that he captained the sloop, Don, from Keadby.

Dawson died on 17th November 1845 and was buried two days later, on 19th November.
