The Medieval Landscape

Jon Kenny recently gave his talk "The Medieval Landscape along the rivers Ouse and Derwent" at Strensall.  To illustrate this talk, Jon has created a map marking moated sites, palaces, castles, monasteries etc in the southern Vale of York.  He says that he gets quite excited about this archaeological landscape representing Game of Thrones-like interactions between Royalty, Lords and Ladies, Archbishops, Prince Bishops, Abbots, Prioresses, senior church men and the aspiring medieval gentry.
