1851: Mary Dove (1851 Census). Before there was a school in Spaldington, the children were taught needlework and reading at a cottage by Mrs Mary Dove.

1930s and 1940s: Fred Fallowdown.
1871: Fred was born on 21st April 1871 at Skipsea. He was the son of George and Annie Fallowdown.
1884: On Tuesday, 22nd July 1884, Fred was involved in an accident at Gransmoor: "On Tuesday, while Fred Fallowdown, of Skipsea, a boy in the employ of Mr. Wright, farmer, was driving a horse attached to a water-cart, the horse ran away, the boy was knocked down, and the cart passed over his body. Fortunately the cart was empty. He was sent home, and under the care of Dr. Morrison, of Beeford, he is now progressing favourably." (Driffield Times, 26th July 1884)
1890: Sadly, Fred's father, George, died at Skipsea on 4th February 1890 at the age of 51 years. By the time of the 1891 census Fred's widowed mother, Annie, was working as a farmer and 20 year old Fred and his 13 year old brother, George, were supporting her as agricultural labourers.
1911: At the time of the 1911 census, Fred was lodging at 56 Walmsley Street, Hull. He was working as a brewer's drayman.
1921: Fred married Agnes Bertha Wales at Sculcoates in 1921.
1936: Fred's wife, Agnes Bertha, died on 10th November 1936 and was interred at the Western Cemetery in Hull. (Hull Daily Mail, 12th November 1936)
1939: At the time of the 1939 Register, Fred was the tenant licensed victualler at the Plough Inn. Also in the household at the time were Annie and Mary Gledall, housekeeper and domestic servant.
1955: Fred died in 1955 at the age of 83 years.

1985: The Plough Inn was offered for sale (Hull Daily Mail, 25th July 1985)
1992: The Plough Inn was mentioned in the Hull Daily Mail on 5th January 1992. By this time, an extension had been built on the LHS of the building.
